Portable LCD makes for first class travel at CCH
 When
Curt Will packs his bags for a business trip, his destination could
be just about anywhere in the United States. With a widely dispersed
sales force averaging one rep per state, the Sales Operations/Support
Manager for CCH, Inc. wants to travel light. That’s the reason Will
turned to the Sharp Notevision projector as his frequent traveling companion.
CCH
is in the weighty business of keeping track of the legal changes that
govern our everyday lives. "We take all the laws and regulations on
a particular topic, interpret and annotate them," says Will. "We give
people the tools to put them into action." In other words, the lawyer
who seems to pull that obscure case study out of his head probably looked
it up in a CCH publication. Will’s office in Riverwoods, Illinois deals
primarily with health and human resource issues. In the ever changing
world of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, it is Will’s job to keep
his sales force abreast of what the company has to offer and to make
product presentations as smooth and presentable as possible. So when
it came time to upgrade his LCD projector, Will decided something light
and simple to use would make his job easier. It was United Visual’s
Mike Maturo that suggested the Sharp portable. "Mike was very helpful,"
says Will. "He did a good job of identifying our needs and bringing
machines that met our needs. Our only decision was which one and the
price."
Will’s
new projector weighs less than ten pounds, and even in its softside
travel case, is an easy carry on. He no longer worries about having
to present in a room with too many windows, because the projector is
so bright. Setup is a simple matter of plugging the projector into the
computer or VCR and turning it on. "It's a no brainer, and that’s exactly
what it should be," says Will.
The
demands of his job may find him presenting software training to three
or four employees one day, or making a computer presentation to 40 or
50 clients the next. In either case, the Notevision has proven to be
a sensible choice for a man on the move.
