Project Manager

United Visual Inc. is seeking a full time Project Manager in our corporate office.

Our Audio Visual Project Manager will be is responsible for:

  • Communicating and coordinating between customers, vendors, and United Visual Inc. personnel to ensure on time project completion.
  • Coordinate and communicate a detailed scope of work, timeline, and schedule for multiple projects.
  • Solving problems in a calm and orderly fashion as they arise to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Performing site visits to develop and verify accuracy of system and quote process and system functionality.
  • Answering technical questions and concerns on current and completed system installations.
  • Assigning responsibilities, monitoring and supervising the progress of assigned projects.
  • Frequent communication with sales staff on status of projects.
  • Coordinating the development of design drawings as needed.
  • Coordinating control system interface with control system programmer.
  • Providing assistance to the Sales Engineers, Sales Representatives, Coordinators, and Installers as required.
  • Track and update progress of projects and report on job status, efficiency and profitability.
  • Provide quality control analysis of processes, information, necessary corrective action, and cost breakdown of quality.

Preferred qualifications are as follows:

  • Five years related experience.
  • Training in audio/visual design.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with control systems (Extron) and programming (AMX, Crestron) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and team building skills are essential.

The Audio Visual Project Manager should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of audio/visual installation, products, and systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read and mark-up working blueprint of installation projects.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Field/Bench Service Technician

We are currently seeking a full time Field/Bench Service Technician in our corporate office.

Qualified candidate is responsible for the installation, testing, and servicing of audiovisual systems; the proper processing of all records and documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The motivated candidate must have a High School degree or equivalent and three to five years experience in the installation and service of audiovisual equipment. Trade school degree is a plus. Industry certifications or experience is preferred. AMX and/or Crestron control system programming/troubleshooting experiences are also very beneficial.  Installation experience with SmartBoards and a working knowledge of popular DSPs, including ClearOne and BiAmp would be helpful. Knowledge in servicing LCD and DLP projectors is also beneficial. In addition, applicant must have a full knowledge of common audiovisual components and systems service along with proper record keeping skills. Must also have working knowledge of MS Office, Internet and web based support sites. Field and Bench Service Technician is required to have a valid Driver’s License and vehicle (no exceptions).

Main tasks and duties include, but are not limited to, the following: troubleshoot, repair and install audiovisual equipment including SmartBoards, control systems and general electronics, ability to upload and test AMX and Crestron source code, perform preventive maintenance on previous mentioned equipment types, trace wire runs and determine functionality of cables and connectors, pulling low-voltage cables through conduit and walls.  Must possess mechanical repair skills, knowledge of basic electronics and soldering skills. Provide technical assistance to our clients as well as conducting field service calls and some operational training at the job site. This position requires the willingness to attend training sessions to remain current with product lines that we sell and service. Candidate must be able to handle multiple and overlapping tasks in this fast-paced industry.

Education Consultant

Job Opportunity:

United Visual is currently seeking a Education Consultant to work out of our corporate office.  The Education Consultant is responsible for carrying out all company goals and objectives as it relates to the position.

Primary Role:

To promote and grow United Visual’s Smart Classroom solution sales and opportunities including SMART Technology products, related products and services.

Responsibilities:

As the United Visual education consultant you will work closely with United Visual’s marketing team and education sales team. You will be responsible for building relationships with local school and district administrators plus providing both pre-sale and post-sale support for adoption of Smart Classroom solutions.

  • Making contact and establishing relationships with top administrators in local school districts
  • Understanding and reporting local education issues
  • Assessing the needs of each district with building or district administrators
  • Providing or arranging for SMART product demonstrations
  • Providing district administrators with introductions to and overviews of SMART training services, professional development programs and curriculum resources
  • Identifying and helping develop additional sales opportunities
  • Coordinating and executing group discussions and conferences that bring together SMART customers in your region to share best practices and learn about new SMART products and offerings
  • Contributing SMART Notebook software files, and providing input to the education consultant community
  • Local travel required within the region to visit customer sites. Chicago area, Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
Accountability:

The Education Consultant will be accountable to the Sales Manager. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, sales team members and United Visual clients and end users.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with building and district administrators in local school districts
  • Knowledge of local education issues
  • Proven experience with, and enthusiasm for, classroom technology integration
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with classroom response systems and/or SMART boards a plus.
  • Experience mapping or correlating instructional materials to provincial or national standards a plus
  • Ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds (23 kg) of equipment
  • A valid driver’s license
